Dress Code: Black Tie
what’s encouraged:
suiting:
Tuxedos–black or midnight navy–with a formal shirt, bow tie, and classic evening shoes. Think traditional black tie rather than cocktail or business formal.
dresses:
elegant, relaxed evening wear- floor-length or long dresses in tonal or muted colors. Think refined silhouettes and elevated fabrics rather than cocktail or daytime styles. Dressy sandals are absolutely welcome.
Please note: The ceremony is going to be held on a sidewalk and the reception is a five minute walk away. There will be seating throughout, but we suggest elegant, yet comfortable shoes.
weather:
Early October is one of the nicest times of year in New York.
Days are typically mid-60s°F (18–21°C)–perfect for being outside–while evenings cool to the mid-50s°F (13°C), so a light jacket or shawl is a good idea.
There’s about a 25–30% chance of rain, usually just a brief shower. Most years are crisp and comfortable… which of course means it might rain. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and adjust if needed.
please avoid:
Suits, sport coats, blazers, or mix-and-match jackets
Colorful bow ties or anything ‘fun’ (This is strictly prohibited by Tom and yes its me writing this, don’t you dare)
Open collars, long ties, or anything cocktail-leaning
Short, daytime, or overly casual dresses
Stripes, polkadots, or loud patterns/colors (sorry Mum)
When in doubt, text tom.
